MAYERS CARE is seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide to provide essential support to our patients. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of individuals in our care.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a related field
- Accompany patients during outdoor recreational activities to promote engagement and well-being.
- Assist in the cleaning, sterilization, setup, and assembly of medical equipment.
- Support the maintenance and repair of medical devices.
- Perform various duties related to patient care and comfort, ensuring a supportive environment.
- Assist with personal care tasks to maintain hygiene and dignity.
- Manage bedpan supply and disposal.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Serve meal trays and assist patients with feeding as needed.
- Help with the safe transfer, lifting, and positioning of patients.
- Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in patients' rooms, including making beds.
- Supervise and encourage patients in their exercise routines.
- Administer specific medical procedures such as suppositories and enemas as directed.
- Keep an accurate inventory of medical supplies.
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Facilitate patient transport between care facilities as required.
- Transport patients using wheelchairs or stretchers safely.
- Respond to call signals to assess and address patients' needs promptly.
- Collect specimens for medical testing as instructed.
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures by ensuring cleanliness and readiness of operative areas.
- Provide first aid in emergency situations as necessary.
This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 35 to 40 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
