The Opportunity

The Reproductive Care Program is a provincial program of IWK Health Centre, reporting to the Manager of the Reproductive Care Program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership to provincial and national committees.
  • Leading perinatal quality reviews in all regional centres.
  • Developing and providing education programs.
  • Determining priorities through data interpretation.
  • Implementing provincial resources that reflect best practice.
  • Creating and implementing evidence-based guidelines.
  • Providing practice support and advice on perinatal care issues.
  • Maintaining knowledge of evolving standards.
  • Collaborating with medical advisors and health professionals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Master of Nursing/Health Care/Education completed or in progress.
  • Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in perinatal nursing with leadership experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' progressive leadership experience.
  • CNA Perinatal Nurse certification an asset.
  • Current CPR Level-C Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Recent clinical experience in supporting laboring and birthing women essential.
  • Experience in both hospital and community-based practice preferred.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract required.
