We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to join our team at School District #73 (Kamloops-Thompson).

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in the classroom and in small group settings
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and services
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in the field of deaf education
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
