We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at 1926872 Alberta Ltd. o/a First Town Foods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with a passion for creating high-quality baked goods.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in baking or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment is considered an asset.
The position is based in a supermarket or bakery department, where you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities- Preparing dough for various baked items including pies, bread, rolls, and pastries, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes.
- Ordering and managing materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for baking.
- Baking a variety of mixed doughs and batters to perfection.
- Handling special customer orders with care and precision.
- Frosting and decorating cakes and other baked products.
- Creating production schedules to ensure timely delivery of baked goods.
- Maintaining quality standards for all products.
- Conducting inspections of kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Operating baking machinery and equipment efficiently.
- Organizing and maintaining inventory of baking supplies.
- Overseeing the sales and merchandising of baked products.
The focus will be on:
- Breads and rolls
- Desserts and pastries
This role requires:
- The ability to distinguish between colors and attention to detail.
- Working in a fast-paced environment with the capacity to handle physical demands.
