Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. You will also be responsible for the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of new units.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment
- Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) of new units
- Work under the direction of the Service Manager to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of heavy-duty and agricultural equipment
- Utilize technical manuals and special tools to perform repairs and maintenance
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery
- Operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly, as required
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience performing agricultural equipment service repairs
- Ag Technician preferred (Level 4 to Journeyman)
- Previous John Deere experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of heavy-duty and/or agricultural equipment
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- Valid driver's license with reasonable abstract required
- Forklift license preferred
