About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Food Counter Attendant to join our team at 1252225 B.C. LTD. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a clean and safe food preparation environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Portion and wrap foods to meet customer requirements
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer expectations
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables in a timely and efficient manner
    • Take customers' orders accurately and efficiently
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash in a timely and efficient manner
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Support for Diverse Groups
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing
    • Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth to help them develop their skills and confidence
    • Provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers to support their career development
    • Offer awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
  • Work Environment
    • Work Term: Permanent
    • Work Language: English
    • Hours: 40 hours per week
