Job Summary

The Quality and Systems Specialist, Molecular Imaging and Therapy Quality Program Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Molecular Imaging & Therapy Quality Program for BC Cancer – IAMI. This position will require on-site presence at the BC Cancer Centre, with remote work as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer the BC Cancer Functional Imaging Department's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring efficient management of data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and administer the Department's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of quality standards.
  • Act as the LIMS point of contact with external stakeholders, liaising with the LIMS vendor and IT services to arrange periodic system updates, user training, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Develop and execute validation protocols to ensure regulatory compliance for electronic systems and equipment.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations associated with deviations, non-conformances, and failures, summarizing findings and recommending corrective action.
  • Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures and Test Methods, submitting them to the Manager for review and approval.
  • Perform other activities as required, including assistance with document control, data analysis, and supplier file maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Three to five years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industries.
  • Ability to operate an electronic QMS or LIMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and apply them to everyday practice.
  • Knowledge of data integrity related to Good Manufacturing or Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and organize work.
  • Technical writing ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact constructively and efficiently in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage workload priorities.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
