Qualifications- Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant experience in an educational setting.
- Assist students during both academic and extracurricular activities.
- Support the school library or office operations.
- Provide individualized or small group assistance to students, reinforcing learning concepts under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the school principal.
- Supervise students during school and extracurricular activities to ensure a safe environment.
- Facilitate the integration of students into the classroom and school community.
- Help maintain classroom inventory and resources.
- Monitor student progress and communicate findings to the classroom teacher.
- Assist teachers with the operation of audio-visual and electronic equipment.
- Support students with special needs through various techniques, including sign language and remedial programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional verbal communication abilities.
- Adaptability and flexibility in various situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Assist newcomers and refugees with the recognition of foreign credentials.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth.
- Deliver diversity and cross-cultural training to promote an inclusive workplace for visible minorities.
