Curo Claims Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a Claims Adjuster, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and resolving property insurance claims in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Respond to general inquiries, initiate and maintain contact with insured members, and assist with commodity claims overflow.
  • Claims Resolution: Confirm coverage, review and compile facts, obtain technical reports, complete contractual coverage analysis, and assess quantum.
  • Communication: Coordinate with outside service providers, ensure timely completion of work activities, and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • File Management: Ensure all correspondence is completed in a timely and effective manner, including the creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss, waivers, and reservation rights letters.
  • Investigation: Gather information from insured members, civil authorities, police, witnesses, and other insurers to complete a timely investigation of property loss.
  • Quality Service: Maintain quality service and adhere to organizational standards to deal with all aspects of file handling, including reserving, expense, and loss control.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assist and participate in all dispute forums related to policy coverage on behalf of key stakeholders.
  • Legislative Compliance: Identify by-law requirements and standard unit definitions of each province's Condominium policies.
  • Confidentiality: Keep claims information confidential to protect operations and insured members.
  • Data Integrity: Responsible for data integrity, issuance of payments to vendors, insureds, and experts, and to maintain well-organized claim files while ensuring accuracy of data input.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to partner's guidelines, contracts, and insurance regulations to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Teamwork: Actively participate in coaching and training sessions and collaborate with team members and management.
Qualifications:
  • A post-secondary education and/or college diploma within a related field.
  • CIP designation or working towards designation.
  • A provincial adjusters license; ability to acquire same.
  • 2+ years' experience with a good understanding of various property policies.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Current Microsoft Office working knowledge.
  • Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, including working with various computer programs, databases, and software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
