We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Building Attendant to join our team at Ainsworth. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our property, providing exceptional service to our residents, and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to residents, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and upkeep of common areas, amenities, and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain the property's exterior and interior spaces, including parking areas, landscaping, and irrigation systems.
- Assist with snow removal and ice melt applications during winter months.
- Handle and store hazardous materials safely and in accordance with regulations.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure smooth completion of work.
- Complete work orders and turnover maintenance in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct daily vacant suite checks to ensure no leaks, extreme temperature fluctuations, or security breaches.
- Practice occupational health and safety standards, ensuring all mechanical areas are clean, swept, mopped, and safe for all occupants.
- Manage hazardous materials and respond promptly to environmental hazards.
- Uphold and report breaches of the property's rules and regulations.
- High school diploma supplemented with OHSA, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications.
- Knowledge of basic building systems and general maintenance and customer service training.
- Minimum 1 year's experience in basic property maintenance.
- Experience in the property management or hospitality industry preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, and to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with team members and residents.
- Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure, and handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
