Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Systems Analyst to join our team at the City of Kingston. As a key member of our GIS team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our corporate and internal GIS systems and web applications.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in geospatial data analysis, GIS systems development, and project management. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial data and geographic information systems, as well as providing technical support and expertise to internal staff and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain corporate and internal GIS systems and web applications
  • Provide technical support and expertise to internal staff and the general public
  • Design, implement, and maintain geospatial data and geographic information systems
  • Conduct ongoing technical research of new and existing systems and processes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in geospatial data analysis, GIS systems development, and project management. You will also need to have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, as well as strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively independently and as a team member.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about geospatial data and GIS systems, and who is committed to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a 3-year diploma or degree in Geosciences, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related field. They will also have a strong background in GIS systems development, project management, and geospatial data analysis, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Experience with Esri Platform suite, relational databases, and modern programming languages/tools is highly desirable. The candidate will also need to have a strong understanding of systems development methodologies and business/systems analysis.
