Job Title: Elementary School Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our team at THE CATHOLIC INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS OF NELSON DIOCESE. As an Elementary School Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student learning
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in education
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum
  • Provide individualized support to students who require extra help
  • Prepare and administer assessments to measure student progress
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field
  • Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate
  • Membership in a provincial or territorial teachers' association or federation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school setting
