Mid-Level Project Engineer/Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a respectful and inclusive workplace that prioritizes psychological safety for all team members.
  • Oversee and coordinate engineering tasks on projects or act as a subject matter expert, executing complex engineering assignments. In the absence of a project manager, the Project Engineer assumes these responsibilities.
  • Facilitate communication between Engineering and other project disciplines, including Process Engineering, Project Controls, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, vendors, and client teams to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate closely with TWD's PMO group to uphold adherence to established processes and recommend enhancements to existing protocols.
  • Ensure thorough checking and review of documentation and interdisciplinary coordination in line with contract stipulations and project procedures.
  • Manage engineering workflows in accordance with project scope, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor progress trends to identify potential risks to project objectives and proactively lead the development and implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively at various organizational levels, both internally and externally.
  • Deliver presentations to clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate client and project management concerns to ascertain facts and propose solutions.
  • Provide detailed project reports and updates.
  • Anticipate, monitor, and manage risks that could adversely affect project completion.
  • Conduct quality control and analysis of project deliverables (e.g., costs, schedules, plans) and report findings to relevant stakeholders on a weekly basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, complemented by substantial experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) registration is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in refinery or chemical plant operations is preferred.
  • 5-9 years of experience in field project engineering or project management within industrial projects, with exposure to multiple disciplines.
  • Familiarity with the Front-End Loading (FEL) process and gated delivery models.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus but not required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively communicate objectives and achievements across all organizational levels.
  • A collaborative team player who embodies values of honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Local availability for frequent site visits.
  • Possesses a 'seller' capability.
