Position: Senior Officer, Events - Revenue Development

Status: Permanent, Full-time
The BC SPCA is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to take on the role of Senior Officer, Events. This position is crucial in driving our fundraising initiatives and ensuring the success of various events that support our mission to assist animals in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the comprehensive planning and execution of the annual Offleashed Vancouver Gala, collaborating closely with the Development Assistant, Events.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies, manage logistics, timelines, budgets, and sponsor recognition.
- Work in partnership with the Philanthropy team and committee members to enhance relationship-building opportunities and expand support for Offleashed Vancouver.
- Lead logistical planning for the Offleashed Victoria Gala and two Fur Balls, providing strategic guidance for event leads.
- Ensure that event themes, branding, and messaging align with organizational objectives and contribute to achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Utilize metrics to assess the effectiveness of programs and provide regular updates as necessary.
- Foster relationships with industry peers and commit to ongoing professional development and innovation.
- Supervise and mentor the Development Assistant, Events.
A Day in the Life:
- Formulating a new sponsorship and ticket pricing strategy for event committees.
- Leading creative sessions with colleagues and designers to refresh event branding.
- Reviewing event websites and collaborating with developers for enhancements.
- Reconciling revenue data with financial tracking systems.
- Coordinating schedules for promotional video shoots and preparing participants.
- Preparing guest lists for executive meetings and collaborating with the Philanthropy team for briefing materials.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Innovative problem-solver with a passion for relationship-building.
- Adaptable and confident decision-maker with strong judgment.
- Collaborative and empathetic approach to teamwork.
- Aligned with the mission and values of the BC SPCA.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Post-secondary education with 5-8 years of relevant experience in fundraising and event management.
- Comprehensive understanding of event strategies and best practices.
- Proven experience in budget management and vendor relations.
- Ability to guide and train colleagues and volunteers effectively.
- Strong analytical skills for data management and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
