Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team and help us drive growth for Colgate Palmolive in this constantly evolving landscape.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing Solution Architecture principles, building models of data that enable the implementation of the business architecture, generating diagrams displaying key data entities, and producing an inventory of the data needed to realize the architecture vision.

Our teams work on the latest data technologies in the Cloud space including Snowflake, BigQuery, DBT, Apache Airflow, Apache Iceberg, Spark and more.

This position will be focused on building out and leading the vision for our external and internal data in our modern cloud data platform.

The candidate should be comfortable in playing a lead role towards the evolution of technology deployments across the global footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions in key data areas for syndicated, point of sale and indirect trade data.
  • Define, design, and help architect solution and coordinating and communicating with GIT Teams for implementation.
  • Define, design, and build data models for use by the business.
  • Evaluate reusability of current data for additional analyses.
  • Review object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.
  • Define how the data is stored, consumed, coordinated and led by different data entities and IT systems.
  • Engage with the data management team in best practices for data sourcing, key data elements, data quality management and metadata.
  • Engage with the data warehousing team in the migration to cloud warehousing.
  • Provide data initiatives, evaluations, and mentorship with projects in accordance to our corporate guidelines.
  • Build expertise in diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
  • Ensure the proper use of information technology project management methodology to comply with governance practices.
  • Collaborate with business / functional team, develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation of project.
  • Mentor and coach junior developer resources.
  • Conduct performance tuning to improve system performance over multiple business processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years professional experience as a data analyst, Solution Architect, data engineer, or related role developing conceptual, logical, and preliminary physical models for an enterprise.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, SQL or Cloud technologies.
  • Experience working with cloud data warehousing (e.g.- Willingness to gain training/certification in designated technologies.
  • Database architecture and data warehousing experience.
  • Project management.
