Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Manager to join our team at GATX Corporation. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to our management team on all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, labor relations, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition and Development:
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent in the industry.
    • Manage the hiring process, including creating job postings, reviewing resumes and applications, and coordinating interviews.
    • Partner with the Service Center Manager and hiring managers to develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Labor Relations and Compliance:
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with union representatives and employees to ensure fair and equitable treatment.
    • Investigate and resolve employee complaints and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial laws and regulations related to labor relations and employment.
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Develop and implement initiatives to promote employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
    • Partner with the Service Center Manager and management team to develop and implement programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
    • Conduct regular employee surveys and feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Behavior, or Human Resources.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on labor relations and talent acquisition.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems.
  • HR certification a plus.
