Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to oversee our NorthwesTel initiative. This role is pivotal in managing a power infrastructure maintenance program across various regions, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met efficiently and effectively.

The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison with the client, holding accountability for project performance, deliverables, and the management of both staff and subcontractors involved in the project. Key responsibilities include overseeing contract amendments, ensuring quality control, and managing health and safety protocols.

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel is a necessary component of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and guide team members in accordance with contract specifications.
  2. Ensure timely submission of all reports and plans, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
  3. Establish a Quality Control Program to uphold service level standards.
  4. Identify and pursue opportunities for business expansion.
  5. Effectively manage a dispersed workforce across multiple locations to ensure consistent service delivery.
  6. Document and report on exceptional performance and services rendered beyond the contract scope.
  7. Foster strong relationships with client representatives through regular updates on project progress.
  8. Recognize changes in project scope and initiate requests for adjustments as necessary.
  9. Review and authorize all project proposals and material estimates, ensuring thorough documentation.
  10. Guarantee that all fixed-price work is executed on schedule, adhering to contractual and regulatory standards.
  11. Conduct weekly reviews of ongoing work orders and projects, ensuring timely completion.
  12. Prepare the Annual Business Plan and analyze financial reports to identify and address cost-related issues.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Technical diploma or university degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
  2. Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal are advantageous.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in infrastructure or industrial maintenance.
  4. Proficient in project management, estimating, budgeting, and accounting standards.
  5. Experience in emergency response, particularly in hazardous material situations.
  6. Familiarity with environmental regulations and occupational health and safety standards.
  7. Knowledge of fuel operations and power generation systems is beneficial.
  8. Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
  9. A valid driver's license is required.
