The Culinary Support Specialist is integral to delivering exceptional food services to residents, ensuring a nurturing and welcoming atmosphere. Key responsibilities encompass meal preparation, managing food inventory, upholding hygiene standards, and assisting residents in developing their culinary skills. This role also includes organizing cooking workshops and community kitchen events, all while providing trauma-informed assistance to women and children facing challenges.
Essential Qualifications:
- A diploma in Community Social Services or a related discipline is required
- At least two years of experience in supporting women and children in difficult situations
- Preferred experience in food preparation and culinary arts
- Understanding of food safety protocols and culinary training
Key Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Capability to follow recipes and prepare meals for large groups
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective conflict resolution and group facilitation
