We are seeking a skilled Labourer to join our team at Colas Western Canada Inc. as part of the Lafrentz Road Marking division. As a Labourer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our road marking projects, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and execution of road marking projects, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct flag-person tasks and assist operators, lead hands, and foremen in their duties.
- Execute and maintain temporary traffic accommodations, including signs, arrowboards, barricades, and traffic cones.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date driver logs using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD or eLog).
- A high school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Valid driver's license (Class 5) with a recent commercial driver's abstract.
- Must own reliable transportation, as public transit is not available in Acheson.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 40kg/90lbs.
- Willingness to work out of town occasionally, for up to 2 weeks at a time, in various provinces.
- Ability to work occasional night shifts.
- Construction experience is an asset.
- Experience with safety regulations and safe practices is an asset.
- Ability to work in uncertain outdoor conditions.
- Ability to work overtime hours.
- Ability to comply with our Drug and Alcohol Policy, including a no-tolerance policy on Cannabis use.
- Competitive salary starting at $20 per hour, paid weekly.
- Regular overtime hours.
- Night shift premium.
- Per-diem paid when working outside the Edmonton area.
- Hotel rooms booked and paid for by the company.
