Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Electrical Project Manager for our Ottawa office. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of system engineering concepts and related documentation.
  • Conduct calculations and select appropriate equipment, delegating tasks to design and BIM teams as necessary.
  • Manage the review process for existing installations and assess their impact on ongoing projects.
  • Oversee the shop drawing review process to ensure compliance with project timelines.
  • Address technical and financial inquiries related to the project.
  • Review all project deliverables for accuracy and completeness at various stages of development.
  • Coordinate documentation with internal and external project teams.
  • Communicate project requirements to all stakeholders, including owners and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards throughout the project.
  • Monitor task completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgeted hours.
  • Facilitate coordination processes among the internal project team and other disciplines.
  • Liaise with external consultants and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Promote company standards for project administration and documentation.
  • Act as contract administrator for designated projects, ensuring timely completion of all activities.
  • Prepare and manage change notices and coordinate with the contract administration team.
  • Review design elements in relation to construction budgets.
  • Advise on construction and project procurement methodologies.
  • Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule of tasks and critical data for project performance.
  • Organize and participate in client meetings and presentations.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years of project engineering experience in electrical building services.
  • Senior C.E.T. designation or equivalent experience is also acceptable.
  • Strong leadership abilities and capacity to work independently.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and clients in a complex environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through effective client and staff interactions.
  • Proven experience collaborating with consultants and contractors on major projects.
  • Familiarity with provincial building codes, electrical codes, and relevant standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • LEED certification or experience with sustainable design is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, methods, and standards.
  • Demonstrated initiative and practical problem-solving skills.
