Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to lead our technical team in the Maintenance Department at Telfer. As a key subject matter expert, you will be responsible for proactively leading technical excellence in electrical maintenance and reliability to ensure a safe operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of electrical engineers and provide technical guidance to peers and direct reports.
  2. Proactively identify and lead reliability analysis & improvement initiatives for electrical assets.
  3. Develop and implement improvements to plant and equipment, including engineering and capital project management.
  4. Work closely with electrical supervisors and technicians to provide technical support for fault finding and repairs.
  5. Create, update, and review new or existing site electrical standards and procedures.
  6. Be accountable for Root Cause Analysis (RCA's) related to electrical related events.
  7. Identification and management of safety and business risks associated with electrical installations.
  8. Develop and improve upon maintenance strategies and tactics.
  9. Ensure the safety of yourself and all other personnel while ensuring compliance with Newmont Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Policies & Procedures.

Requirements:

  1. An Engineers Australia recognised degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. A minimum 7 year demonstrated experience in the Mining Industry.
  3. Demonstrated Processing Plant and heavy industry hands on experience, working closely with electrical maintenance personnel.
  4. Sound experience with electrical network modelling software (such as ETAP, DIGSilent).
  5. A solid working knowledge of AS3000 and AS3008.
  6. Previous experience demonstrating electrical engineering leadership within the Owner's team is highly regarded.
