About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Labourer to join our team at Piller's Fine Foods. As a Labourer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our meat processing and packing plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the plant.
  • Packing and Packaging: Feed flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers, remove filled containers from conveyors, and manually pack goods into bags and boxes or other containers.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Quality Control: Check products and packaging for basic quality defects and assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Site Environment: The Labourer will work in a cold/refrigerated environment with exposure to odours and wet/damp conditions.
  • Work Setting: The Labourer will work in a meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment.
  • Physical Demands: The Labourer will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a repetitive task environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Reliability, team player, and attention to detail.
