Labour Relations Manager Job Description

Voyago is seeking a highly skilled Labour Relations Manager to join our team. As a Labour Relations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all labour relations activities within various sectors within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to assist the organization within a multi-faceted union and non-union landscape
  • Lead negotiations for collective bargaining agreements (CBA) with unions, including preparation for negotiations, leading employer committee, and managing administration of negotiation process
  • Serve as the main liaison between the union and management for labour-related matters, resolving disputes and handling employee grievances efficiently in a multi-union environment.
  • Provide formal training and informal coaching to supervisors and managers on managing in a unionized environment including CBA interpretation, assessing disciplinary penalties, and accommodation processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in labor relations, preferably in the transportation industry or another unionized environment.
  • Proven experience in collective bargaining, grievance & arbitration handling, and labour law compliance in a unionized workforce.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, primarily in-office with some flexibility.
  • Regional travel to support unionized locations and union business
