Overview:

As a Pharmaceutical Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care. You will assist in the management of pharmacy operations while ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory practices.

Key Responsibilities:


• Execute all professional duties related to medication dispensing, patient education, and pharmacy services.


• Fulfill all requirements to meet dispensary orders efficiently.


• Engage in activities under the expanded scope of pharmacy practice.


• Provide pharmacy services aligned with company initiatives.


• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.


• Oversee pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, taking on their responsibilities as needed.


• Ensure the pharmacy operates according to established hours.


• Maintain compliance with company recall procedures.


• Implement effective procedures to manage inventory shrinkage.


• Support the Pharmacy Manager in scheduling and addressing staffing needs.


• Assist with dispensary documentation and inventory oversight.


• Deliver outstanding customer service, addressing any concerns that arise during your shift.


• Stay informed about local market trends and business development opportunities.


• Uphold store standards and operational conditions.


• Handle cash register operations as required.

Qualifications:


• Education: B.Sc.Phm. Degree (4-year University Pharmacy Program).


• Licensure: Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.


• Certifications: Injection certified, Smoking Cessation certified, and registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.


• Proficient in current PC systems, MS Office applications, and pharmacy software (Kroll).


• Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive work environment.


• Effective communication skills to engage with customers and colleagues respectfully.


• Excellent organizational skills for prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.


• Customer service orientation to meet and exceed customer expectations.


• Openness to constructive feedback for ongoing improvement.


• Initiative to independently identify and complete necessary tasks.

Relationships:

The Pharmaceutical Care Specialist will report to the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Operations Manager, providing guidance to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacist Assistants, and Pharmacy Clerks. Interactions will occur with internal departments (Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Merchandising, Inventory Control, and Audit) as well as external partners (pharmacy vendors).
