Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Care Aide to join their team in West Vancouver, BC.
As a Care Aide, you will be responsible for providing assistance to clients with personal care and carrying out established recreation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients
- Implement and participate in established activities of the therapeutic leisure and recreation program
- Provide input to the development and evaluation of the therapeutic leisure and recreation program
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Grade 12
- Graduation from a recognized Home Support Worker/Resident Care Aide program
- Successful completion of an Activity Assistant Program from a recognized college, one year recent experience working with a physically and/or mentally frail adult population
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to work in a flexible and collaborative manner with the team
- Ability to demonstrate respect for the rights, confidentiality, dignity and self-esteem of those who are elderly, physically disabled or cognitively impaired
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
