Job Title: Counsellor - Special Education Needs

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Counsellor to join our team at Education Station in Ottawa. As a Counsellor, you will work with students with special education needs, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counselling services to students with special education needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' needs and progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Provide guidance and support to students in areas such as social skills, behavior management, and academic achievement
  • Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to interventions and strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of counselling sessions and student progress

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with special education needs
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Empathy and understanding for the unique needs of students with special education requirements
