Job Title: Mental Health and Addictions Counsellor

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health and Addictions Counsellor to join our team at the Ministry of the Solicitor General. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing rehabilitative addiction counselling services to individuals and groups of offenders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement addiction counselling programs
  • Provide one-on-one and group counselling services
  • Liaise with community agencies and self-help organizations
  • Assess and address the needs of offenders
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive support
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of current addiction counselling theories and practices
  • Understanding of risk and needs assessment tools
  • Ability to apply relevant legislation and organizational policies
  • Experience in providing one-on-one and group counselling
  • Proficiency in computer software packages and database systems
Working Conditions:

This is a temporary position with a duration of up to 6 months. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a security screening check.
