About the Role

As a Learning Support Team Lead at Camosun College, you will play a vital role in fostering student success within the School of Access. You will oversee a team of Instructional Assistants, ensuring they provide effective educational support to our diverse student population.

Your Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Lead the recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and ongoing development of Instructional Assistants. Cultivate a positive and supportive work environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with department chairs to align instructional support services with departmental needs and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the School of Access.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage schedules, address student and staff inquiries, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the team.
  • Student Success Champion: Advocate for students, resolve issues effectively, and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

Your Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Five years of experience working with adult learners, including administrative and supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with learning centers and online learning platforms.
  • A deep understanding of the unique needs of adult learners, including Aboriginal students, students with special needs, and other diverse populations.
