Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Cardiology department as a Unit Aide. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms and equipment in accordance with established guidelines
  • Ensure patient rooms are clean and tidy, and maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Place orders through our inventory management system and maintain supplies and equipment required for the unit
  • Transport defective equipment to our Biomedical Engineering department
  • Assist Ward Clerks in delivering requisitions, specimens, x-rays, and other essential items
  • Order supplies through our inventory management system
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience as a Unit Aide or in a similar role is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of Family Centred Care are essential
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of IWK Health fire response regulations is required
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing unit needs and work hours
