Job Summary:

The Overnight Supervisor provides daily direction to the team members working the overnight shift within the retail store, to include sales floor replenishment, merchandise presentation, seasonal resets, inventory management, and price change execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members by giving clear and concise direction and follow up to ensure proper execution.
  • Ensure adherence of all standard operating procedures and processes by team members, following up to provide training and guidance when needed.
  • Maintain visual presentation standards, including in-store signage, proper execution of merchandise directives and planograms, merchandise recovering/front facing, and general daily recovery to ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Ensure nightly replenishment of sales floor from backstock inventory, as well as new replenishment from the Distribution Centers and direct vendor deliveries.
  • Support inventory management in partnership with the Inventory Control team by completing on-demand counts, empty peg scanning, pick requests, display integrities, etc. during off-peak business overnight.
  • Support the Assistant General Manager with coordination of all special events, maintenance of pricing and UPC integrity, determining proper assortments, accuracy of inventory, proper display, tagging, signing, and pricing of all advertised items.
  • Support the Assistant General Manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, measuring and evaluating performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems, maintaining a positive, harassment-free working environment for all associates.
  • Assist the Assistant General Manager and site Human Resources to staff the department with service-oriented associates, participate in interviewing and make recommendations for selection, coordinate training, consult with the Assistant General Manager, and give input on preparation of performance appraisals, prepare weekly work schedules, coach, and motivate associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Preferred Degree: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Years of experience: 2-4 years in a retail environment, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Availability to work overnight shifts.
  • Ability to read and analyze reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, team members, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.
  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management, and inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, team members, customers, and internal cross-functional partners.
