Position Overview

This role is a Short Term opportunity of 3-6 months, offering the flexibility to work from home, with potential options for either full-time or part-time engagement.

KNG Technical Inc. is renowned for its production of both heavy and light-duty vulcanizing presses tailored for the conveyor belting sector. As pioneers in crafting innovative tools for this industry, we have established ourselves as leaders in advanced electronic control systems.

The successful candidate will be an Electrical Design Technologist with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant Canadian experience, tasked with creating electrical design schematics for industrial machinery. A certification as an Electrical Technologist from a recognized Canadian institution is essential, along with familiarity with provincial regulations, certifications [ETL], and LEED being advantageous. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is a must.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses, but is not limited to:

  • Designing sophisticated control boxes to facilitate mechanical functions in machine design.
  • Organizing, programming, and sourcing controls and components, including the preparation of Bills of Materials.
  • Utilizing computer software for layout diagrams, testing, tracking work hours, and communication.
  • Conducting quality control checks, testing electrical assemblies, touch screens, and wiring to ensure mechanical performance.
  • Arranging and connecting cables, tubes, and wiring, along with crimping, soldering, and general panel box assembly.
  • Manually positioning or aligning electrical components, relays, terminal rails, and din rails for assembly.
  • Performing rework, repairs, or replacements of damaged components as necessary.
  • Engaging in hands-on tasks, including lifting materials, fastening components, and completing products using various tools.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior experience in electrical, electronic, touch screen, PLC design, and assembly.
  • Understanding of various electrical components that control mechanical systems.
  • Basic familiarity with tools, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Capability to interpret and work with 3D CAD and 2D CAD designs.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (EPICOR) is a plus.
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including lifting, kneeling, and bending.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small connectors.
  • Awareness of production processes and electrical quality standards.
