To facilitate the successful execution of this large-scale endeavor, GMining Services is in search of a skilled and driven professional to fulfill the following role:
Site Electrical Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Electrical Superintendent on site, the selected candidate will join a dedicated team focused on the design and advancement of the project. Specifically, the Site Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:
- Overseeing operations at the construction site for the ongoing project.
- Conducting tests and analyzing results to ensure compliance with standards.
- Identifying and selecting the necessary electrical equipment for installation.
- Organizing and coordinating the tasks of electrical personnel.
- Collaborating with various project stakeholders to track detailed engineering progress.
- Monitoring and verifying the installation, modification, testing, and functionality of electrical systems and apparatus.
- Preparing cost assessments and project timelines.
- Developing specifications for the maintenance and operation of electrical systems and equipment.
- Participating in the commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical components, including switch cabinets, protective relays, motor control centers, transformers, and variable frequency drives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in both French and/or English, in both verbal and written forms.
- Experience in the mining sector, both surface and underground, is advantageous.
- Membership in the Order of Engineers of Quebec or another Canadian province.
