Director of Operations

Fantasyland Hotel seeks a seasoned leader to oversee the operational activities of our hotel and West Edmonton Mall Inn. As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for leading, evaluating, and developing the operational activities of our hotel, ensuring the highest level of quality services are provided to our guests at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and operational guidance to management teams in areas such as Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Food and Beverage departments.
  • Develop and implement operational standards, quality assurance inspections, and guest satisfaction programs.
  • Take a hands-on approach to assist hotel departments when required and ensure smooth operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Lead by example as a customer service-focused presence on the floor, setting the standard for hospitality service to guests.
  • Provide hotel industry input on new operational initiatives and create business plans to achieve desired results.
  • Assist the General Manager with escalation issues related to customer service concerns, employee relations, and quality control measures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure hotel security, human resources, and IT standards are met.
  • Review financial reports to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in senior-level hotel management in a large volume, high-end hotel or resort property.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Hospitality and Management or a related field.
  • Outstanding leadership, team building, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong financial and revenue management experience with knowledge of Hotel Rooms Division and Food and Beverage operations.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

Terms of Employment:

  • This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work day, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • This is a salaried position with a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • This position qualifies for the 4-day workweek program.
  • Must pass a basic security clearance.
