Job Title: Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Job Summary:

The Public Health Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing care and support to individuals and communities in a public health setting. This includes conducting health assessments, developing and implementing health plans, and providing education and support to clients and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct health assessments and develop health plans for clients and families
  • Provide education and support to clients and families on health promotion and disease prevention
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives
  • Conduct research and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs
Requirements:
  • Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in public health or community nursing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
