About the Role
Aurora Cannabis is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cultivation Team Member to join our team in the role of Cultivation Team Member. As a key member of our cultivation team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and quality of our cannabis crops.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the continuous monitoring and scouting of the crop for health, pest, and disease issues.
- Release biological control agents as part of our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
- Communicate and escalate all issues with the crop and/or production process to relevant parties as required.
- Participate in cultivation-related activities such as pruning, defoliating, crop maintenance, harvesting, and cycle turnover as required.
- Adhere to Aurora's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with Health Canada's Cannabis Act, as well as ISO requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Where applicable, promote and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Grower Pesticide Safety Course completed would be an asset.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Health Canada security clearance is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
- Temperatures range from 20 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and after hours as required.
- Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms.
- This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not suitable for employees who may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure.
- Comfortable climbing ladders.
