Job Title: QC Laboratory Technician

Aurora Cannabis is seeking a highly skilled QC Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our cannabis products.

Responsibilities:
  • Train and assist laboratory staff in sample preparation and analytical techniques.
  • Provide feedback on laboratory performance, including turn-around time and instrument performance.
  • Liaise with the sample receiving and quality teams to ensure smooth sample scheduling.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for in-process testing of cannabis products.
  • Perform sample preparation and analysis of cannabis samples using various chemistry-based assays.
  • Calibrate and verify laboratory equipment performance.
  • Report and troubleshoot any laboratory equipment errors.
  • Document test procedures and summarize results in reports.
  • Review and critique laboratory activities and SOPs.
  • Ensure the quality and availability of routine reagents and standards.
  • Dispose of samples according to Health Canada guidelines and health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with safety and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related science discipline.
  • 1-2 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
