Opportunity for Family Support and Education Specialist

Macaulay Child Development Centre is a vibrant organization committed to fostering the well-being of children, families, and communities. We are currently in search of a Family Support and Education Specialist to contribute to our mission on a Full-time Permanent Basis . If you are dedicated to enhancing parenting practices, child growth, and assisting families in need, this position may be ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in outreach initiatives to connect with at-risk families
  • Conduct home visits and work in partnership with public health professionals
  • Build rapport with families to assess their needs and aspirations
  • Implement methods for the early detection of children's developmental challenges
  • Provide education to parents regarding child growth and effective parenting techniques
  • Foster social connections and parent support networks
  • Connect families with local programs and resources
  • Stay informed about community services and supports
  • Guide students and volunteers in their roles

Required Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of parenting and child development
  • Empathy towards families experiencing difficulties
  • Strong communication abilities in both English and Spanish
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check
