Unit Manager

About the Role:
NAV CANADA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Manager to join our team. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in providing safe and efficient air traffic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety, service, and quality of ACC services delegated within your scope of responsibility.
- Lead a team of professionals, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and developing a high-performing and highly engaged team.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to address deficiencies in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) program.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure OI investigations are completed.
- Ensure operation practices comply with the Fatigue Risk Management Program.
- Plan, train, and manage both the Emergency Response and Business Continuity Planning.
- Support Air Traffic Services (ATS) Standards by ensuring staff meet all licensing, medical, and proficiency requirements.
- Act as the local point of contact for NAV CANADA for identified operational issues.
- Develop and manage budgetary plans and forecasts based on operational requirements and priorities.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of secondary school.
- 3 years of leadership experience managing a diverse team.
- Knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Air Navigation System and Air Traffic Management.
- Human Resources/Labour Relations skills are an asset.
- Ability to foster a climate conducive to an engaged workforce by promoting company values of respect, excellence, and service.
- Demonstrated ability of strong time management and judgement to prioritize multiple tasks of varying urgency.
- Ability to manage large, complex initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Bilingual (English and French), in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulations and Official Languages requirements.
Working Conditions:
- This position is based in Montreal ACC and is classified as an onsite position.
- Occasional travel required.
