Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Blue Ocean Freight Inc. as an Equipment Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty diesel engines, as well as maintaining and repairing other equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex issues with heavy-duty diesel engines, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, to ensure equipment is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Diagnostic and Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and perform diagnostic tests to determine the root cause of problems.
  • Parts Procurement and Inventory Management: Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring that the necessary materials are available to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and other activities, and provide regular reports to management on equipment status and performance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 3 years or less of experience in heavy-duty diesel engine repair and maintenance, or equivalent education and training.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet the physical demands of the job.
