Building Automation Technician

Siemens Canada Limited is seeking a skilled Building Automation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics on systems and components, testing and verifying system readings, and diagnosing trouble or defects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on systems and components according to the service level agreement
- Test and verify system readings ensuring an optimal system operation
- Diagnose trouble or defects, determine corrective action and repair system; discuss and document problem with customer and/or office and advise of the best course of action
- Complete upgrades, adjustments, and instrument calibration on systems and components following issued instructions
- Respond to customer emergency service calls on-site or remotely, check indicated points of trouble
- Analyze the requirements of systems involved, check and test systems components
- Work with other employees' companies or external service providers or vendors to arrange servicing to resolve problems
- Document the work executed, issues resolved, etc. through detailed service reports
- Work as a trusted advisor for the customer
- Advise Account Engineer on equipment required and time estimation for replacement parts following service visits
- Work with the sales representative and service account engineer to identify additional opportunities, including time and material, system extensions, upgrades, and service contract expansions
- Proceed with new work as per issued guidelines
- Participate in service turnover on assigned jobs
Requirements:
- Requires college technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience in building mechanics, instrumentation, and control or related area
- Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in the building automation and building control systems
- 2 years experience instrumentalization and control
- Good knowledge of Building Automation systems and relevant standards (Siemens systems a strong asset)
- Very good knowledge of French both written and spoken
- Proven diagnostic skills - able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems
- Self-motivated and calm under pressure
- Experience in delivering high-quality customer service to a broad range of customers
- Understanding of the Building Code as it pertains to Automation
- Driver's license is essential
