We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nutrition and Food Services Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our patient meal preparation team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of food service to our patients and residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Meal Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve patient meals, including assembling, portioning, and serving meals to patients and visitors.
- Food Handling and Safety: Participate in receiving and storing supplies, maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment, and adhering to safe food handling procedures.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, residents, and staff, responding to patient phone calls and entering meal selections on a computer or electronic tablet.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including receiving and interpreting patient diet/meal orders, confirming patient meal requirements, and maintaining accurate records.
- Education: Grade 12/GED or equivalent, or demonstrated skills and/or relevant work experience.
- Skills: Demonstrated competency in English and basic math, customer service skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical Demands: Frequent physical demands include extensive standing and walking, bending, lifting (maximum of 35-40lbs), pulling and pushing, and transferring/transporting equipment.
