Talent Advisory Manager

Dentons Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Talent Advisory Manager to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our national Talent team, you will be responsible for providing Human Resources consultation and recommendations to our staff members in the Edmonton office.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee HR operations and processes for the Edmonton office staff, ensuring compliance with established policies and relevant legislation.
- Manage one direct report, providing coaching and guidance on HR matters, including employee relations and sensitive issues.
- Administer and manage employee leave programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and tracking leave balances.
- Support efforts to drive positive engagement, identifying key trends and issues, and making recommendations for changes and enhancements.
- Cultivate positive working relationships with all Dentons members, building trust and credibility to create a safe and supportive environment.
- Drive the annual performance management and compensation review process, providing guidance to people managers on compensation recommendations.
- Oversee voluntary and involuntary departures, ensuring standardized processes are followed.
- Remain current in market trends, legislation, and best practices, recommending new approaches to HR practices.
- Adhere to budget guidelines and participate in the annual budgeting process.
- Monitor workplace safety compliance, investigating workplace accidents or incidents, and collaborating with our Privacy and Risk team to address health, safety, and compliance concerns.
- University degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- HR designation is an asset.
- Minimum five plus (5+) years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist role.
- Experience in a professional services organization or law firm preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong team player, able to build effective relationships with key internal clients and Talent colleagues.
- Demonstrated commitment to privacy and ethical conduct, exercising good judgment and seasoned interpersonal skills.
