Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, Day Evening Weekend

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals recovering from substance use to achieve their employment goals.
Key Responsibilities- Client Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' vocational rehabilitation needs, develop personalized plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to integrate vocational goals into treatment plans.
- Vocational Counselling and Support: Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions to clients, facilitating their transition to competitive employment in an integrated community setting.
- Job Development and Marketing: Conduct job development, direct marketing, and job search activities to connect clients with suitable employment opportunities, negotiate job accommodations, and establish workplace agreements.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with clients, staff, and community agencies to ensure seamless service delivery, provide education and support to employers, and participate in professional development activities.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, prepare reports as required, and contribute to the evaluation of service delivery.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant social or health sciences program, plus two years' recent experience in vocational rehabilitation counselling and job marketing/development.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principles, basic counselling skills, and ability to develop group-based curricula and facilitate virtual psych-education sessions.
- Certifications and Licenses: Eligibility for certification as a rehabilitation professional with a recognized association.
