Job Description
The Investment Operations department works closely with the Investment management team and other business partners to deliver transactional, operational, and accounting support. We are currently recruiting for an Associate role in the Investment Operations department, primarily accountable for overseeing a work stream as part of new system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage investment operations functions, ensuring accuracy of trade tickets and accounting entries, completeness of supporting documentation, and validation of transaction amounts.
- Partner with colleagues to successfully structure, close, and fund transactions by proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Assist in the timely completion and accuracy of various reports and reconciliations relating to benchmarking, portfolio holdings, and P&L.
- Assist in the pricing and valuation validation process for principal credit, intellectual property, and structured product investments.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved.
- Build a reputation as a subject matter expert in the private investments domain for issues related to investment operations and accounting.
- Continually strive for operational excellence, seeking ways to streamline processes, create operational efficiencies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or other related discipline.
- Advanced Degree or Professional designation such as a CFA or CAIA is considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years direct experience in private/public credit operation.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and aptitude in learning new software applications.
