Job Description

At CPP Investments, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Investment Operations Associate to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing a work stream as part of new system integration in the Investment Operations department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage investment operations functions, ensuring accuracy of trade tickets and accounting entries, completeness of supporting documentation, and validation of transaction amounts.
  • Partner with colleagues from the Investment Departments, Structuring, Tax, and Treasury to structure, close, and fund transactions by identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Assist in the timely completion and accuracy of various reports and reconciliations relating to benchmarking, portfolio holdings, and P&L.
  • Assist in the pricing and valuation validation process for principal credit, intellectual property, and structured product investments, providing insightful analysis to identify material performance movements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved, and financial controls and reporting requirements are met.
  • Develop a reputation as a subject matter expert in the private investments domain for issues related to investment operations and accounting.
  • Continuously strive for operational excellence, seeking ways to streamline processes, create operational efficiencies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhanced controls, and data integrity.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or other related discipline.
  • Advanced degree or professional designation such as a CFA or CAIA is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years direct experience in private/public credit operation.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and aptitude in learning new software applications.
  • Experience onboarding new instruments is an asset.
