About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Technician to join our team on a project in Labrador. The successful candidate will conduct a wide variety of laboratory and field testing on aggregate, soils, concrete, and grout, ensuring quality control and quality assurance. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting field testing activities and working within a small crew to provide quality control/quality assurance.
- Collecting, preparing, and reviewing field notes and relating data for presentation to clients or supervisors.
- Attending client meetings (safety, quality, and contractual) and managing daily work schedules.
- Addressing issues from field activities and performing equipment calibrations/certifications.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 3 years of related materials testing experience.
- A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in concrete testing.
- Experience in the use of a nuclear densometer.
- Experience in aggregate sampling and laboratory test procedures.
- Experience in rebar inspection is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and analytical abilities.
- Technical competence and attention to detail.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts and willingness to work in remote sites for extended periods of time.
- A valid driver's license is required for this position.
