Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at the Congregation of Missionaries of the Precious Blood Atlantic Province. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean kitchen and work areas, adhering to strict health and safety standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage kitchen operations, including supervising staff and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Possess a Safe Food Handling certificate and a valid driver's license.
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, and organized behavior.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position, working 30 to 35 hours per week. Public transportation is not available, and a valid driver's license is required. The work setting is a retirement home, and the work conditions and physical capabilities include standing for extended periods.
