Job Title: Health Safety Environment Specialist

The Aversan team is seeking a highly skilled Health Safety Environment Specialist to join our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental standards are met and recorded in our systems to maintain ISO compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the HSE strategy, management systems, and plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide advice, leadership, and hands-on support to project personnel to promote HSE principles and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of safety culture improvement programs to support behavioral improvements.
  • Collaborate with the HSE/Facilities Manager to ensure training requirements and documented records are maintained.
  • Act as a liaison with the Safety Manager and support the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Investigate and report all accidents/incidents, and facilitate form completion.
  • Liaise with external service contractors to ensure HSE compliance.
  • Manage corrective action requests and contribute to the continuous improvement of risk assessments and HSE processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and company safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary certificate or degree in technology and/or health, safety, and environmental field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience with safety management systems.
  • First aid courses (levels 1, 2, or 3).
  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable Federal and Provincial legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
