Position Overview
The Customer Service Representative in the Market plays a vital role in delivering outstanding service within the food retail environment. Reporting directly to the Business and Food Services Lead, this position is essential for ensuring a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle cashier responsibilities, including processing transactions and maintaining precise cash records.
- Identify sales opportunities and engage in suggestive selling to boost profitability.
- Provide exceptional customer service by establishing rapport, offering accurate information, and assisting customers in product selection.
- Perform various retail and food service tasks, including food preparation and maintaining an organized retail space.
- Restock items such as beverages and condiments, while monitoring inventory levels for timely replenishment.
- Receive deliveries, verify inventory against purchase orders, and communicate any discrepancies to management.
- Ensure safe storage of deliveries in compliance with food safety standards.
- Report any issues regarding deliveries or product quality to supervisors promptly.
- Conduct daily inventory checks and provide recommendations for ordering as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the market and dining areas.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Grade 12 education is required, along with a Food Safe Certificate. Candidates should have at least three months of relevant experience in the food service industry. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and cash balancing software is advantageous.
