Mechanical and Civil Works Supervisor

FNX-INNOV seeks a dedicated Mechanical and Civil Works Supervisor to oversee construction projects within our power plant facility.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful execution of mechanical and civil works, adhering to stringent project requirements and industry standards.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the progress of mechanical and civil construction activities on-site, verifying adherence to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of plans, specifications, and contractor proposals to ensure alignment with quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Validate contractors' quality management systems and procedures to guarantee consistent adherence to established standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of work progress, including supply chain updates, labor allocation, equipment utilization, potential damages, technical challenges, and the effectiveness of implemented quality control measures.
  • Promptly address and resolve any non-conformities or deviations from project requirements, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks that could impede plant commissioning and operational readiness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of successful construction monitoring and project management within the power generation industry.
  • Experience with turbine-generator groups is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software relevant to construction management.
  • Fluent in French (written and spoken).
  • Possession of a valid construction safety certification.
  • Prior training or experience with Hydro-Québec is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
